Mebahel's Creatures: Dwarven Automatons
A Skyrim-inspired Minecraft adventure mod featuring ancient Dwemer automatons, mechanical ruins, transforming enemies, powerful Centurions, Dwarven equipment, and summonable mechanical companions.
Minecraft: 1.20.1 and 1.21.1
Loaders: Fabric, Quilt, Forge, and NeoForge (with Syntra Connector & Forgified Fabric API)
Ancient machinery is moving again.
Deep below the surface, inside forgotten industrial halls and even beyond the Overworld, the machines left behind by a lost civilization continue to guard their ruins.
Mebahel's Creatures: Dwarven Automatons brings a complete Dwemer-inspired mechanical faction to Minecraft. Explore ancient Dwarven structures, fight automatons with unique combat behavior and mechanical animations, recover Dwemer technology, craft Dwarven equipment, and summon your own Dwarven Spider or Dwarven Sphere companion with special invocation staves.
The goal is not simply to add a few mechanical mobs. The mod is built around exploration, combat, ancient technology, and discovering the remains of a forgotten civilization.
If you enjoy the mod, use the Follow button on CurseForge to be notified about future creatures, structures, improvements, and major updates.
Why Play Dwarven Automatons?
- A complete mechanical faction: Dwarven Spiders, Spider Guardians, transforming Spheres, and powerful Centurions each fill a different combat role.
- Unique mechanical behavior: Automatons reposition, transform, use ranged attacks, unleash steam, and react differently depending on the encounter.
- Ancient Dwarven ruins: Explore industrial halls, underground cities, mechanical facilities, traps, and rare structures across multiple dimensions.
- Summonable companions: Use Dwarven invocation staves to summon a Spider or Sphere that fights alongside you.
- Dwemer-inspired progression: Recover scrap and mechanical components, refine Dwemer Metal, and turn ancient technology into weapons, armor, tools, and building materials.
- Multiplayer-friendly exploration: Personal chest loot allows every player to receive their own rewards.
- Built for modpacks: Entity stats, summoned companions, combat damage, armor, and personal loot behavior can all be configured.
Discover Ancient Dwarven Technology
Exploring Dwarven ruins rewards you with the materials needed to understand and reuse the technology hidden inside them.
Dwemer Metal
Dwemer Metal Ingots are the foundation of Dwarven crafting.
They can be obtained by recovering Dwarven scrap and materials from ruins or defeated automatons, then reused to create equipment and mechanical components.
Dwarven Equipment
Recover enough material and you can forge your own equipment inspired by classic Dwemer designs.
Weapons and armor allow the player to bring part of that ancient technology back into the outside world.
Mechanical Components
Gears, cores, scrap, and other components are used throughout Dwarven crafting recipes and help reinforce the idea that the ruins are places to dismantle, study, and salvage rather than simple monster rooms.
Dwarven Building Blocks
The mod also includes metallic and industrial building materials for players who want to create their own Dwemer-inspired workshops, fortresses, laboratories, or underground cities.

Summon Your Own Dwarven Automaton
Ancient Dwarven technology can also be turned into an ally.
Special Dwarven Summoning Staves, inspired by Skyrim, allow you to summon mechanical companions that temporarily fight at your side.
Dwarven Spider Companion
A fast melee companion suited for quickly engaging nearby enemies.
Dwarven Sphere Companion
A more versatile automaton capable of supporting the player with both close-range and ranged combat.
Summoned companion statistics can be configured separately from hostile automatons, including their lifetime, health, armor, melee damage, and the Dwarven Sphere's additional arrow damage.
Face a Mechanical Bestiary
Every automaton has its own place inside the faction.
| Automaton | Combat Role |
|---|---|
| Dwarven Spider | Small and agile melee construct that rapidly closes the distance with intruders. |
| Dwarven Spider Guardian | A tougher Spider variant built to survive longer encounters and protect important areas. |
| Dwarven Sphere | A versatile automaton that travels in a compact state before unfolding into its combat form. |
| Dwarven Centurion | Boss-tier construct built around heavy melee attacks, steam-based abilities, and extreme durability. |
Different machines are designed to create different kinds of pressure rather than behaving like reskinned versions of the same Minecraft mob.
Mechanical Combat and Custom AI
Dwarven automatons use custom behavior rather than relying only on standard Minecraft mob AI.
Transforming Dwarven Spheres
Dwarven Spheres can move through ruins in a compact mechanical form before unfolding when combat begins.
Their transformations are fully animated and make encountering one feel more like activating an ancient machine than simply finding another hostile mob.

Combat Positioning
Automatons use custom movement logic to approach targets, reposition during encounters, or maintain distance when their combat role requires it.
Dwarven Spheres can combine movement with ranged pressure instead of simply walking directly toward the player.
Dwarven Centurion
The Dwarven Centurion is the faction's heaviest combat unit.
It combines powerful melee attacks, high durability, and steam-based abilities to create a much more dangerous encounter than the smaller automatons found throughout the ruins.

Explore Forgotten Dwarven Ruins
Dwarven structures appear in different parts of the world and are built around exploration, combat, ancient machinery, traps, and valuable technology.
Each location has a different scale and role in the mod.
Raldbthar
A medium-sized Dwarven ruin filled with mechanical halls, industrial areas, traps, loot, and active guardian units.
Raldbthar offers a more accessible introduction to Dwarven exploration before the player begins tackling the faction's larger and more dangerous locations.

Blackreach
A vast underground area containing the remains of an ancient Dwarven city.
Blackreach is one of the largest and most dangerous locations in the mod, with a high concentration of automatons and valuable resources hidden throughout its ruins.
It is designed as a major exploration destination rather than a small isolated structure.

End Dwarven Observatory
A rare Dwarven facility found in the End.
These abandoned observatories were built to study the dimension, its inhabitants, and its unusual environment. Their creators are long gone, but the machines they left behind continue to patrol the facility.
Exploring an Observatory can reward players with valuable loot and mechanical components while bringing Dwarven exploration into an entirely different part of Minecraft's progression.

Multiplayer-Friendly Loot
Dwarven structures use the personal chest system provided by Mebahel's API.
- Every player can receive an independent loot roll from the same chest.
- One player opening a chest does not remove another player's rewards.
- Loot is generated separately for each player.
- Dwarven chests use custom mechanical animations.
- Personal loot can be disabled if a modpack prefers traditional shared inventories.
This keeps large Dwarven structures rewarding when explored with friends or on multiplayer servers.

Optional RPG Expansion
Dwarven Automatons can be played completely on its own, but it also integrates with Mebahel's RPG: Villager Quests and Companions.
The RPG mod can connect Dwarven locations and encounters to the wider quest system, allowing the ruins to become part of a broader adventure rather than isolated exploration content.
The quest mod is completely optional.
Extensive In-Game Configuration
The default settings are designed to work out of the box, but important balance values can be adjusted for solo worlds, multiplayer servers, and modpacks.
Configuration can also be edited directly in game through the Mebahel Mods menu, so manual JSON editing is optional.
